4.8 The Antwerp Imitator of Rosenborg Castle

A group of 17 paintings is clearly done by one hand, here named the Antwerp imitator of Rosenborg Castle, a prolific painter who used compositions by Paul Bril (RKDimages 246793), Roelant Savery (RKDimages 253259), Tobias Verhaecht (RKDimages 252983) and Pieter Stevens (RKDimages 253249), probably mostly through prints after their works. The works in Rosenborg by this artist are all vertical in size and without decorated framing, they bear no inscriptions on the front or on the back and their manufacture is quite different from the remaining panel paintings.1
